Tonita Goodwin is the Executive Director of the Hazard-Perry County Economic Development Alliance. She is responsible for a full range of activities including coordination of the organizational needs of the newly formed position, developing and administering a comprehensive economic development strategy, develop-ing and administering an outreach program to new and expanding businesses and managing the marketing efforts of the organization. Tonita has experience in economic development, the development of start-up companies and assisting the growth of small businesses plus marketing from her 28 years of selling real estate in central Kentucky.
Tonita currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Association for Economic Development and the Southern Economic Development Council (covering the 17 states in the southeastern portion of the United States); she is part of the 2017 Class of Leadership Kentucky; and she serves on the EKU Interna-tional Alumni Association Board. Tonita is a 1980 graduate of EKU with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a major in Accounting. She currently resides in Hazard, Kentucky and is pursuing her CEcD (Certified Economic Developer) designation through the International Economic Development Council.
